Yoga and Somatic Education

I practiced with Liliana Nuño at OSSEUS Yoga Gravity Research (Lisbon), taking her 300h "Yoga and Somatic Education" Teacher Training Course.
Working with the weight of the body and gravity, building strong foundations step-by-step, traditional yoga philosophy and some Buddhist principles are some of the main concepts we touched upon.

FMS: Functional Movement Screening

"Do no harm"
For me, this is the basic rule of training people. That's why I learned the FMS Screening Method by Functional Movement Systems, to identify movement patterns that can lead to injuries before those happen.

Calisthenics and Functional Training

Do you want a strong AND functional body? The ability to push or pull yourself up if needed, or to have an extremely strong core?
Calisthenics or bodyweight training does that to your body, building functional strength while maintaining mobility and flexibility.
You can achieve a beautiful, lean figure, without weights and machines, and you can even do it outdoors, in nature.

Yoga ~ Low Intensity

Yoga can and has to adapt to each individual. You CAN do Yoga, no matter your age, gender, lack of flexibility or past injuries.
It's my role as a teacher to design a class that's not only doable for everyone but fun, engaging and challenging at the same time.
Forget the photos of extreme yoga poses you saw on the internet! Instead, trust in your body and my skills to provide you with adequate props and modifications for the postures. Give it a try? 

Suitable for both complete beginners and seasoned yoga practitioners who prefer a slower paced class with easily accessible postures.

Instructions are given both in English and Spanish during the class.

Yoga ~ Medium Intensity

Based on traditional Hatha Yoga poses, this class is sometimes more steady and technical, at other times more Flowing (Vinyasa).
Depending on the present student's preference it can be more dynamic or more chilled.
Ready for improved posture?

Ready to improve your balance, digestion, breathing, circulation, mobility, flexibility, core strength and so on?
Ready to improve your attention and body awareness?

Suitable for anyone without major physical limitations from complete beginner to intermediate level.

Fanni is an amazing yoga teacher: attentive, calm, very clear in the instructions and always giving an option for how you can get to the next level of the different yoga postures being practiced. She also pays special attention to injuries in case you have any and provides you with different alternatives for the different postures to ease your pain.
Classes are given at the same time in English and Spanish. Overall always a pleasure to participate in the group classes :)

About Me

Hello, my name is Fanni Karolyi. I'm originally from Hungary and I'm originally an economist.

A chronic disease, rheumatoid arthritis was one of my greatest teachers at the age of 18. I embarked on a lifelong journey of learning about the human body, mind, the connection between our emotional patterns and disease (psychosomatics), and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Eventually it led to a shift in my profession to become a Yoga Teacher and Personal Trainer.

Yoga has taught me to appreciate silence, stillness and calm, patient movement. It helped me to feel my body from within, to better connect with my emotions and to identify when I'm stressed.
I have been practicing yoga for 11 years and teaching it for 7 years, in 5 countries so far.
In my yoga classes I integrate the disciplines I learned such as Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Jin Yoga, Trauma Conscious Yoga, Female Yoga, Life Coaching and Women's Holistic Health Coaching.

Besides practicing yoga, I love to spend time outdoors hiking, trail running or training calisthenics; learning latin dances, cooking healthy & delicious meals, and of course, I love to be at the beach.
